Apprentice Software Developer or
QA Automation Apprentice

We are looking for individuals to join our team. Let us help you launch your tech career. You’ll be provided an opportunity to “earn as you learn” and gain real world experience working along side industry professionals. We will help you obtain permanent placement after our 12-month paid program so you can continue your career in tech as a software or data engineer.

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, with a HS diploma or GED, and be authorized to work in the US.

Ideal candidates will have the following skills:

  • Comfortable working with a computer
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A growth mindset
  • Organizational skills
  • Enjoy problem solving

Responsibilities:

  • Commit to the continuous improvement and learning of software development best practices, tools, and technology for the next 12 months.
  • Complete required training and be rated as competent in the skills required for the role.
  • Provide tech support, including support via troubleshooting, implementing bug fixes, and root cause analysis
  • Review requirements to ensure that they are provided in sufficient detail to be accurately estimated.
  • Work with product owners to fully understand business functionality, pain points, and areas of improvements.
  • Proactively keep HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills current by learning and coding every day.

Hourly Rate: $18 - $20 per hour

Instructor/Technical Author I

We are looking for a Instructor to produce classroom training materials and deliver classroom training. You’ll be part of the leadership team of our organization. As a technical writer you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, continuous delivery of software, and teaching adult learners.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following skills:

  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with quality assurance best practices
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
  • Knowledge of one back-end language (e.g. C#, NodeJS, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Vue)
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow Platform
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Organizational skills

Requirements:

  • Must be able to deliver in person training at multiple facilities across San Diego County
  • Must be vaccinated for COVID19  
  • Must have at least one year or equivalent professional experience in a software engineering, data engineering, or quality assurance role

Responsibilities:

  • Work with leadership team to create technical documents and training materials
  • Design classroom lessons
  • Deliver classroom training to small groups, including hands on demos
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
  • Write documentation and technical reports
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

Salary Range: 65 - 70k DOE

Teaching Assistant – ServiceNow

We are looking for an early career ServiceNow developer to join our team. You will work towards certification on the Now platform and help other learners that are training for roles on the ServiceNow platform. You do not need to have great technical skills, this position requires being open to learning the Now platform and helping others to learn the basics. Having great people skills, empathy, a strong work ethic will lead you to success in this role. The career path for this role is to eventually become a ServiceNow Instructor or ServiceNow Application Developer.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following skills:

  • Comfortable with the foundations of the ServiceNow platform, and the material in the Fundamentals course.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Some basic knowledge of JavaScript might be helpful but is not requireds
  • Some familiarity with databases, Excel, or SQL

Responsibilities:

  • Commit to the continuous improvement and learning of development and ServiceNow best practices, tools, and technology

  • Assist students in learning the topics covered on the ServiceNow exam

Hourly Rate: $26 - $30 per hour

Sr. Software Engineer

We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to produce scalable software solutions. You’ll be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a Full-Stack developer, you should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks, and third-party libraries. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.

We need a “producer” that can help our early career software apprentices observe best practices, troubleshoot, and close out projects. Our ideal candidate loves being the hero. You’ll get to come in and save the day when our apprentices are stuck.

You should thrive on fire fighting and have a passion for closing out projects and getting things done. We don’t take on weird and challenging agency work. Our projects are pedestrian, mostly line of business apps, but to serve more learners we constantly need leaders that can lay hands on the keyboard and produce results.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following skills:

  • Highly skilled with debugging
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Experience developing desktop and mobile applications
  • Familiarity with common stacks
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
  • Knowledge of one back-end language (e.g. C#, NodeJS, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Vue)
