Launch a #newcollar Career
in 3 Easy Steps

We're here to support you in your transition.

Here is what you will need to do next:

Our program features flexible pacing. That means you can go fast if you are willing to work hard; minimize the time it will take for you to reach your goal of a new high paying career in tech.

  • Step 1: Apply and begin the pre-apprenticeship training. You do not need to complete the training prior to program admission, but you should immediately get started if you are interested in joining our team. There is a very competitive selection process, best to come prepared.
  • Step 2: Prep for an interview. The best way is engage with the community and push through the curriculum. SkillBridge participants will be required to complete all of the pre-apprenticeship and some apprenticeship curriculum before the end of your SkillBridge internship so it's best to get started early. As you make progress in the curriculum, you may be invited to interview. This will be your only formal opportunity to be accepted into the program. Space is very limited.
  • Step 3: Ace your interview and get accepted. Pro-Tip we are really looking at effort in the pre-apprenticeship course. We will issue you a letter that you can provide your command for final approval. You will start on the date specified.

How often does the program start? And how long is it?

Our SkillBridge program is an immersive 40hrs a week, 121-150 day program in a rolling cohort format. We accommodate multiple start dates each month.

Can I participate if I have less than 120 days until separation?

We are able to accommodate opportunities of 120 days or fewer, however we do prioritize individuals that can do 121 to 150 days, and those with prior technical experience for admission.

What is the program training like?

This unpaid program combines Software Engineering training with hands on exercises and career skills training.  25% of the program is instructor led 50% is project/practical work and 25% is self-paced online learning.  The program also includes guest speakers and industry presentations.  We have TAs and instructors for technical assistance and each participant is assigned an internal mentor.

Do you guarantee a job?

No.  We will guarantee you an interview for our apprenticeship. More than 90% of the graduates of our apprenticeship program have secured job offers within 60 days of program end date. Our goal is to make the SkillBridge program a pathway to direct placement at an employer or into our apprenticeship program. Admission into our program is highly sought after because it is one of few "earn and learn" pathway to a high growth technical career. Our graduates work for enterprise organizations and at service providers that work with large enterprise companies.

Will I get a certificate at the end of the program?

You will have the opportunity to sit for at least 2 industry recognized certifications at the end of the program, but you will learn valuable skills that will make you ready for day one on the job. That is way more valuable than a piece of paper.
