Board Member Opportunity

Creating Coding Careers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to opening doors into the tech industry through employer-driven earn-and-learn pathways. We aim to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the rapidly growing tech sector. By offering apprenticeships and support, we change lives and contribute to the development of a more inclusive tech community.

We are currently seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our board of directors. As a board member, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's strategic direction and ensuring its long-term sustainability. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas:

Post-Secondary Education (Business Development or Career Services)
Active Duty or Veterans of the US Armed Forces
Fundraising
Strategy and Business Development

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with fellow board members to develop and implement strategic plans that align with Creating Coding Careers' mission and vision.
Actively participate in board meetings, committee meetings, and special events.
Utilize personal and professional networks to identify potential partners, donors, and other stakeholders that can support Creating Coding Careers in achieving its goals.
Contribute your unique expertise and perspectives to help address the organization's challenges and identify new opportunities for growth.
Ensure that Creating Coding Careers maintains its fiscal responsibility and upholds the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and transparency.
Serve as an ambassador for Creating Coding Careers, promoting its mission and programs in the community and beyond.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated passion for and commitment to Creating Coding Careers' mission and values.
Expertise in one or more of the specified areas (Post-Secondary Education, US Armed Forces, Fundraising, Strategy, and Business Development).
Proven experience in leadership, management, or governance roles within nonprofit, for-profit, or public sector organizations.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
A willingness to contribute time, talent, and treasure to support the success of Creating Coding Careers.
Ability to attend board meetings and related events in San Diego, California, and participate in virtual meetings as needed.
