How to get a confirmed seat

Your seat is held only when all three are complete. Steps 1 and 2 can happen at the same time.

  1. 1

    SDWP enrollment

San Diego Workforce Partnership confirms your eligibility and refers you to the cohort. Your navigator handles this step.

  2. 2

    CCC prework

Complete the required prework: resume, LinkedIn profile and employer target list. You can start while SDWP reviews your eligibility.

  3. 3

    Official CCC acceptance

The CCC program team sends your official acceptance. Your seat is only held once you receive it.

Heads up: creating a free CCC account or logging in to the learning portal does not mean you've been accepted.

Frequently asked questions

About the program

This page covers the SDWP + CCC Pre-Apprenticeship: a structured cohort run by Creating Coding Careers with San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP). It combines scheduled live online classes with guided independent work and cohort support. CCC also offers a separate self-paced option with a different format and level of support. The answers here apply only to the SDWP cohort.
Training is fully online and led live by instructors. There is no in-person component. The program includes 160 live training hours plus independent work, with full-time and part-time paces running 8 to 12 weeks. SDWP intake appointments are separate from training time.
Everyone samples four areas before choosing a pathway: software development, technical sales, digital marketing and AI prompt engineering. You then build toward a capstone project that you present at Demo Day. These are training topics. They are not a promise of a job in a particular field.
No prior tech or sales experience is required. You need a computer and reliable internet access. CCC provides the software used in training, including CRM, AI and collaboration tools.
Only if your job lets you attend the required live sessions. The cohort is built around live participation, so a conflicting full-time work schedule may not fit. If that's you, ask about a later cohort or CCC's separate self-paced option.

Eligibility, cost and stipends

SDWP decides eligibility for the funded cohort. Your SDWP navigator can confirm your funding and whether you owe any costs. Creating a free CCC account does not make you eligible. Send eligibility documents only through SDWP's process, never to CCC directly.
Yes, you can apply. CCC has supported justice-impacted apprentices. Program eligibility and employer hiring decisions are separate, and employer requirements vary. Your navigator can talk through fit and support with you, without assuming any particular employer will accept or reject you.
Yes. Participants can earn a stipend of up to $1,000 total. It is paid in installments tied to attendance and completed milestone work. It is not automatic weekly pay. The program team shares the exact milestones and payment schedule with accepted participants.

Getting a seat

New to SDWP? Use the Start Here button on this page and follow the current intake instructions. Already enrolled with SDWP? Ask your navigator to confirm your cohort referral with the CCC training team. You don't need to enroll with SDWP again, but CCC prework and acceptance still apply.
No. Free account access is separate from cohort acceptance. Your seat is held only when all three steps are confirmed: SDWP enrollment, completed CCC prework and official CCC acceptance. Watch for the official acceptance message from the CCC program team.
Prework includes a resume, a LinkedIn profile and a list of employers you'd like to work for. Follow the cohort's prework checklist for exactly what to submit and how completion is confirmed. You don't need to complete every course in the learning portal, just the items on the checklist.

Questions, support and what comes next

CCC doesn't offer one-on-one calls before enrollment. Post your question in the cohort community channel, or join a group information session or watch its recording. For SDWP eligibility and referral questions, contact your SDWP navigator.
CCC provides career preparation and placement support, but finishing the program does not guarantee an apprenticeship or a job. Opportunities depend on employer demand and selection. If you're hired into an apprenticeship later, that's a paid job with wages set by the occupation and employer. It's separate from the cohort stipend.
Report it through the cohort support channel. Being able to log in does not mean you've been accepted, and a locked or missing item doesn't mean you can skip it. Ask the team how to complete that requirement instead.
